Radio silence

Do you ever feel like you are just completely exhausted?

If you didn’t know, I’ve been working on writing a book for my family. Last week I ran into a deadline to finish the entire project- all final edits due…

Current Situation:
After 14 months, I finally finished editing, adding pictures, editing again, changing questions/answers and then… editing again. I finally submitted the book for print over the weekend and immediately felt like I’ve missed something or want to change another something. Too late! It’s been approved for print. It’s time for me to let it go and move on to the next. All that to say- I’ve been so “screened” out!

So when my sister asked me today why I haven’t been posting or contacting her in any form- this is why. I’ve been writing every day, I guess I just didn’t realize that 1- you all weren’t seeing it and 2- how stressed I really did feel meeting that deadline.

I’ve virtually ignored most everything else in my life except my home and homeschool. For that, I apologize if you were not receiving normal communication from me. And to my other sister, thanks for offering me grace. I love you all!

On the positive- I learned my youngest is an amazing editor! She would watch while I typed and correct me on the spot. Then I’d print what I wrote, because that is easier for me to edit, and she’d catch mistakes there, too. I think we went over the entire 152 page book 4x together. Now she knows more about my life than likely anyone on the planet. LOL!

I also got in touch with my mom. If you don’t know, we have had a rough 4ish years, but this book was a real eye-opener on the importance of relationships in my life. She helped me a lot by sorting out pictures from my childhood. She even did it between her travel dates to make sure I had a handful to choose from for my book.

It also got me talking to a lot of people from my past- some that I still talk to on the regular, but others that I’ve lost touch with over the years. It’s been fun sharing stories and verifying memories together. Thank you to everyone who returned messages, spent time on phone calls and for sharing a bit of your life with me.

Now that it’s done, I feel I can be more present in other places in life.

Do you all want me to share bits and pieces of what I wrote in my book? I won’t share it all- it’s deeply personal. But I’m happy to share most of what I have written. Do you want to see more?
