The Full Swing!

Seriously. School is in full swing around here and I’m exhausted already! We started later than normal (don’t worry- we actually school year round, we just reset our school goals in September). I was in Alaska the week we usually would have started so I was a bit behind on planning.
We are now a month in to the new schedule and I’m still perfecting what it looks like now that the girls are both doing high school curriculum. It requires a lot more than what we did for elementary school! 😅

We are still using Miacademy- except the high school version (MiaPrep) for our core curriculum. It’s crazy how quickly they have advanced! There is only one class for one of my kiddos that is at the state assigned grade level. The rest are above standards! I have no clue what I’m going to do once they finish high school. O is on schedule to graduate at 15 and LG at 13. If anyone has suggestions, please chime in! Especially for LG since she’ll still be too young for college courses.

They are busy with online classes, but we also have classes at home! Each day we have a different class together and then a monthly theme, just like always.
If you want resources and links- Go to my post all about Planning Curriculum or if you want to see curriculum layouts from the past, click on the Homeschool category. I’d love to get back to mapping these out, but I just don’t have it in me quite yet.

Right now the favorite class for all of us is financial literacy! Even better that October is all about God’s provisions and how to handle money the Biblical way.
They are also loving field trips and teaching a class each Tuesday. Last week we went to a play, Sister Act, and they taught a class to the family about Greece. We have also been to a concert in the park, 2 museums, a pumpkin patch, a dance performance at Lagoon, they had a booth for their business, they have volunteered a few times, LG and I went to a city counsel meeting and a fire house… As well as their 2x a week co-op and they each have an event they attend separately every week. I was also able to escape home with the husband 2x! To say we have been gone a lot is a fair truth! That’s all happened in just the last 4 weeks.

The girls are also doing a coding class; learning to create their own 3D print designs for their home decor business! O is learning Dutch this year (I wish she would just stick to a language and perfect it, but at least she’s doing it!) LG is sticking with Spanish again this year. The husband is also learning Spanish!

The husband is in a new position at work and about to complete the first full year. I’m so proud of him for getting out of his own way and working so hard to make this promotion happen and work for our family. He is great at balancing every role he plays and I’m just amazed at how many hats he wears and still looks handsome! (I know I’d just be a frazzled mess!) He’s picked up more responsibly at church, takes care of so many things at home and still manages to be kind. God had done great things in him.

I have been working a lot lately! My client list is growing and I’m thankful God is sending me small businesses that are family owned to work with. I’m also on the women’s ministry team at church and have been helping out in the children’s ministry. I am blessed to be leading my second Bible study this year! I’m planning to host one online in the Winter (after the holidays) – if you want in, let me know! I’m going to max it out at 10 people. On top of all of that I’m traveling more and still trying to run our home. If you ever stop by and my house is an upside-down mess- just clean it. 🤣

Our garden grew well this year and we were able to process and store a lot of food! I’m excited to see what happens next year now that we have a whole new garden!

Oh the dogs! And the birds actually… It’s been a year of medical needs… If anyone has a million dollars to spare, we’d love to have it put toward our medical bills! Haha!

There’s just been so much happening- If you don’t hear from us, now you know why. We are just living the dream life!

How is your life going? I want ALL the deets! Marco me! 😉
