Guess who’s back, back again!
I have so much to tell you! Let’s start with answered prayers because that’s what life is all about! And really it should tell the whole story. God has been showing up for me!
For many, many years, I have prayed for a local community that would support my obsession with Jesus. Literally prayed… and then stayed home. Looking back I’m sure God would have been yelling to me, “HEY! I can’t have people you need and don’t know yet just bombard you at your house! Get out of your own way!” Although, every time He’s talked to me, He’s quiet and kind. He knows me so well.
Well I finally got the point and started to get out into the world, I started to listen to other women and really see who they are. I took my voice out for awhile and observed, served and answered with a yes and amen. I learned to pray out loud, without fear, and let God speak through me. I started connecting with others through faith. I joined a few ministries through my church which have allowed for deeper, more consistent connection and training.
And wouldn’t you know it! The doors God had opened are now flung wide open and my cup overflows almost daily. But that’s not the only prayers being answered.
I’ve also been seeking out travel. I wanted to go somewhere with a purpose. I knew it wouldn’t happen as a family trip for many reasons (uhhhh- mostly my dogs!) I wasn’t seeking a vacation, but a place to be for a reason. And guess what God did! He opened another door. I was soon invited to go on an mission trip, with all of the friends I’ve been connecting with in the church community He provided and we got to go to ALASKA!
It was quite a journey to get there, but I’m now that I’m home, I’m longing to go back. It was absolutely life altering! I’ll make a video recap at some point.
But wait! There’s more! This small business of mine. I sat and wrote out a marketing plan, goals for the next 5 years, a clear perspective of my plan/hopes, a mission statement etc. I got my business license all set up, took classes and then I got scared. #impostersyndrome
But God heard my heart for what I sought to accomplish. He listened to my doubts and answered, yet another prayer. He’s so good!
I was just about to implement a marketing plan for myself to gain more clients when my phone rang with an unknown number. I let it go to voicemail like usual. When I listened it was a potential client, now a current client. Then my phone rang again, and again, and again. I met someone in person at a church event. I got an email, met someone in a parking lot, got another phone call and another! I was starting to get referrals so often I was sending these small businesses to another marketer because I couldn’t keep up.
It took me a bit to get into a groove, but I finally got my calendar organized and was able to double my client list in less than a month. I have people on my calendar waiting to join A Swing & A Sway as clients all the way through March of 2026!
I’d say God knew what I was ready for! He’s provided in abundance once again.
Before I sat to make a marketing plan for my business, I was hopeful I’d be able to host a Summer Bible Study with a bunch of my online friends. He answered that prayer too and the one girl I was specifically praying for (for YEARS) joined in! My heart was overflowing! (You know who you are and I so appreciate that you joined! I hope you found God there).
And that led into another opportunity to host a Bible Study this Fall with over 50 ladies in my community. That starts tomorrow and I know God will show up there, too!
On top of all my own stuff- I’ve seen my husband succeed in more ways that I could ever dream. Promotions, validation, trainings, time to volunteer, be a leader and still the best husband and father our family could every have.
Our kids are flourishing as well! With their own goals, business, friends and time to step up in the community. It’s just amazing to watch God in their hearts and hear His words come from their mouths. They choose Him every day and don’t even know how blessed they are at such a young age. They’ve never known a day without their Savior. How incredible!
Now we are walking into a busy season with homeschool starting and holidays coming soon. I have no doubts we will finish the year strong!
And hopefully I’ll be back here soon to type it all out- like a public journal LOL
I’d love to catch up- How did you spend the last 6 months or so?
