The Version of Me You Don’t See Online

People see pieces of my life online and fill in the gaps on their own. That actually makes sense, we all do it. But there’s a whole version of me that exists off camera, behind closed doors and in the quiet moments that never make it into a caption. So today, I’m letting you see a little more of that version.

Let’s start with the people who see me most.

🦩 My kids think I spoil them… and they’re probably right

My oldest has said we spoil them rotten. Outsiders might think I’m strict or less willing to give without effort, but behind the scenes? I say yes far more than people realize. I’m clear about boundaries, but when it comes to my kids… I just really love them. They are genuinely some of the most incredible humans I know… and yes, I’m biased. I’m supposed to be.

We joke that they’re spoiled, but here’s the deal: the moment they act spoiled, that changes. And they don’t. They walk humbly. They stay grounded. That part is on them. So as long as their hearts stay right, we’ll keep saying yes. We work hard so we can say yes, and honestly, they work hard too.

🦩 I’m more consistent at home than I am online

My youngest pointed out that I’m incredibly consistent in real life, but not always online. She also said she sees how independent I am and how I naturally solve problems. She isn’t wrong.

I’m far more present offline. My kids see the routines, the discipline, the follow-through. They see me juggle every role I carry and show up fully for it. They’re also learning this business alongside me. They’ve watched me show up online consistently for clients while letting my own platforms lag behind.

They’ve seen the progress I’ve helped others make and noticed the slower progress in my own business. They’ve watched clients come and go while I stay steady. They’ve seen me pour into someone else’s dream and then scramble to catch up on my own. (Side note: 2026 has shifted this, hence me showing up week after week now. I hope it’s helpful!)

🦩 I’m the problem solver… even when I’m unsure

My kids bring me everything. Every. Single. Problem. So it doesn’t surprise me that they see me as a problem solver.

What they don’t see is what happens after. Just the other night, I stepped into an argument between them. They walked away resolved. I walked away unsure. Later, I cried to my husband because I worried I had been too strong, too pushy or not gentle enough. Parenting is a constant learning curve and I don’t always feel confident, even if it looks like I am.

🦩 The real me is louder, softer and way more playful

Behind the scenes, I’m more sarcastic than serious, although I’ve been told it’s hard to tell the difference. I’m more playful and inappropriate than you’d think. I sing when I talk. I cry at basically everything and I cuss more than I should. In public, I hold it together pretty well, except at church. God meets me there every single time and I don’t hold it in quite as well.

At home or anywhere I feel safe, I loosen up. I’ll never remove my makeup, but I will let my guard down. I turn the car into a concert venue- and yes, I’m the lead singer, I dance and do everything I can to embarrass my kids. I scream in quiet rooms just because I can. My kids jump and respond with, “Why must you be this way?” and I laugh every time. I’m also great at making things awkward on purpose.

I love calm. I loathe chaos. I prefer being home over almost anywhere else. I read constantly and never stick to one genre. I’m scheduled and calculated, but I talk before I think things all the way through. I don’t replay conversations in my head often and I let things go quickly.

I seem to know a lot of people, but few really know me. I have a close circle where I can be my full self. They know when I’m serious and when I’m sarcastic. They know I’ll show up, lend a hand and also ask for help when I need it.

I’m sharing this not to explain myself, but to be a little more real. What you see online isn’t fake, it’s just thought out. There’s depth behind it, laughter behind it and a whole lot of love holding it all together.
