A Day in the Life at A Swing & A Sway

If you walked into my office right now, the first thing you would notice is the TV on. It isn’t for Netflix though. I cast my iPad to it so everything I need for the day is front and center- from homeschool plans to client expectations.

This is especially helpful for my kids to see so they know which phone calls they can interrupt and when they need to wait quietly. My whiteboard desk becomes the brainstorm zone where I make the bullet points and map out the priorities for the day. You’ll also notice on the walls I have routines, goals and time blocks listed for each person. There’s no way I could keep track of it all without checklists and time blocks.

🦩 The Systems That Keep Us Moving

(Because you can’t build a brand on “hoping” you remember everything)

I live in two main apps. First is Family Wall. This is where I keep the homeschool schedules, the chores and even the dinner menu. Everyone has a login so I know exactly where my people are at any given moment. I can see what they are working on, what they have finished and where they need to be at what time. Homeschool is no joke!

The second is Monday.com, my work hub. Every client has their own window for notes, branding details and deadlines. I update this every single morning without fail. I also keep a printed client list visible on my main computer screen at all times with upcoming needs and daily tasks. This is always posted and up to date so nothing ever slips through the cracks. Ya know- in case the internet goes out and I still need to work.

Basically my office is a color-coded, neat-freak, list of things to do.

🦩 Mornings in the Trenches

Once the kids are settled with school, I dive into your work. Every morning brings a new text, a call or a reminder to gather your photos and videos and send them to me. While I wait for those responses, I am already building. For my established clients, I am usually 15-20 weeks ahead on content.

I’m creating the graphics and writing the context for your posts. I check your websites and your emails to make sure every detail is current. I even reach out to your co-marketing partners for links or updates. Once I have it all, I schedule everything across your platforms.

🦩 I’ve Got Your Back (And your inbox)

When your content comes in, I edit and brand it to match your specific voice. I also monitor your pages daily: the messages, the comments and the new follows. I want you to maintain those relationships, so unless the response is a simple one, I am sending the info to you. You should never be blindsided by a conversation you didn’t have. I handle the noise so you can have the one-on-one connections that actually grow your business.

🦩 Midday and the Evening Boundary

(Because a successful business shouldn’t steal your family)

By lunch, I am checking in with the kids and correcting their schoolwork. We eat together and then I’m back to work to finish a larger project for you or start on the next client.

Once my husband walks in, I draw the line. I have learned the hard way that you cannot work 24/7 and still have a happy home. We make room for games, reading and just being together. By bedtime, I can shut down with satisfaction knowing I have managed my day, my clients and my family. Work is constant, but balance is possible when you have the right systems in place.

🦩 Final Thoughts

Being a business coach and content creator isn’t always glamorous. It is a lot of planning and showing up consistently even when life is busy. But the reward is seeing my clients succeed and my family supported. It is controlled chaos, but it is mine and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

If you are ready to let a partner handle the back-end so you can get back to the balance of the work you love, let’s chat.

Talk soon,

L
