Marriage Goals 2025

If you have met me in person, you probably sense that my marriage is my favorite relationship. He is my bestie, my forever, my life wraps up around him.
He leads me to God, he dates me, he loves me at my best and my worst. He’s the best dad, he’s a great cook, he’s a hard worker and dedicated to our marriage in the way Jesus asks him to be. I seriously hit the jackpot!
But it doesn’t mean it’s been easy. It’s not. Combining two completely different people into one is never simple. We work hard for this.

One thing we have implemented in the past few years, that has us staying in touch with who we are growing to become (and not caught up in just raising babies) is date night. We prioritize this time together more than anything else on the calendar and if we have a date planned the same day as your wedding… we might make it, but don’t count on us ever skipping our time together. Joking about the wedding, but really, we take our date nights seriously and it’s been a game changer for us AND our kids!

Two years ago we had a schedule like this & I think we are going back to it because it was more consistent than what we tried in 2024.
Odd Fridays (1st, 3rd, 5th) Date nights for parents
Even Fridays (2nd, 4th) Date nights with kids
On the 2nd Friday we take a kid individually and alternate who goes each month.
On the 4th Friday we do a family date night all together. We alternate who plans it. January is L, February is D, March is M, April is O and so on.

Since we’ve been doing this we have experienced so many fun things! This year for Christmas I got us an Adventure Challenge book to keep us on our toes!
Have you ever seen this book? Do you do dates with your family?
