This week we will be exploring BUGS! All the creepy crawlies in the jungle, as well as bugs where you live.
Here are some ideas to dig into this week:
Language Arts:
Read this weeks suggested books!
Grab your workbook!
Write a short story about an interaction you might have with your favorite bug or insect! It could be fiction, non-fiction or even a poem! (Add art to this week’s school and illustrate your story!)
PE:
Get outside and explore your surroundings! Find bugs in trees, in the lake or even under rocks.
Get moving like a bug! Make up your own movements or snag this FREE printable for ideas!
Art:
Build your own Bug Hotel! Here is a video of my kid’s making their first bug hotel!
Grab items from around your home and create a realistic or made up bug! Do the best you can! (Make sure to take a picture of it and share with me!)
Of course you can grab your clay and create creepy crawlies of all kinds!
Science/Geography:
Learn about the lifestyle of your favorite bug species! Can you find on a map where they live (or don’t)? What do they eat? How to they contribute to our world?
*Did you know spiders are found on every continent EXCEPT Antarctica?
Watch this short video about classifying bugs and insects. What did you learn? What do you ant to know more about?
Check out my Pinterest Page for more ideas!
And always make sure to tell your friends/family about some of the things you learned!
I’d love to see what you decide to do this week! Send me something you loved learning or doing?
Talk soon,
L
